You Can't Be HOLY Until You Are WHOLLY His!
Numbers 11:4 (KJV)
“And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?”
Until what you carry is wholly God, you will find yourself remembering the things of the past and becoming drawn to them.
This is why brokenness is an essential aspect of our walk with God. The process of brokenness goes hand in hand with purification. Through these processes, the dross and unwanted materials within us are purged and discarded.
Without them, there will inevitably be unsevered ties to the past—ties that constantly pull us back, rekindle old desires, and make us long for the very things we ought to have left behind.
The children of Israel had been brought out of Egypt, yet the cravings of Egypt had not been completely uprooted from within them. They had left the land, but certain desires still lingered in their hearts.
And isn't this a reflection of what can happen in our walk with God? We may have left certain places, habits, and ways of life, yet still carry within us affections that draw us back to them.
Deliverance from a place does not automatically mean the eradication of its influence within you.
This is why we must yield to the processes of brokenness and purification, allowing God to deal with everything within us that competes with His presence and purpose.
Let your vessel bear God wholly and fully. Let Him purge you of everything that contends for the place that belongs to Him alone.
You cannot be HOLY until you are WHOLLY His!
