DON'T JUST HEAR THE WORD, EXPERIENCE IT
I am someone who loves to share my little experiences whenever I have the opportunity to share the Word of God. I also love listening to the experiences of others as they share the Word. Sometimes, the mere knowledge that someone has practised what they are sharing and experienced its reality is enough to strengthen my conviction.
It is much more difficult to be convinced otherwise about a truth you have not only heard but have also practised and experienced.
Sometimes, the reason I may struggle to believe God for a particular reality is that I have yet to put the knowledge of Him in that area to work. I know about His ability to work in that way, but I have not yet seen, experienced, or touched the reality of that knowledge in my life. Consequently, it becomes easier for other voices that contradict that truth to sow seeds of doubt in my heart.
Experiencing the realities of God and seeing His Word at work in your life strengthens your faith far more than merely hearing someone speak about it.
The journey to experiencing God begins when you start putting everything you have learnt from His Word into practice. The Word of God was not given merely to fill your head with ideas about God; it is a revelational book that opens your eyes to the realities available to you in Him and teaches you how to walk in them.
The Bible says that faith without works is dead. I would also say that knowledge you do not put to work remains unproductive and may eventually become a waste.
Your faith becomes more deeply rooted as you continually apply the Word of God and witness its fruits in your life. Every time you act on His Word and experience its reality, your conviction deepens, and your confidence in Him grows.
Don't just hear the Word. Practise it. Live it. Experience its reality!
There is a difference between knowing what God can do and having a personal testimony of His workings in your life. Don't settle for merely knowing about God when you can walk with Him and experience the realities revealed in His Word.
