I AM TOO DIRTY!

Oh, I am dirty. Too dirty for the Lord. Broken. Shattered beyond repair. There's nothing I can do. No glue to gum me, to hold me together. Nothing.

I'm so dirty. Look around me. My accusers rush in with stones in their hands, ready to peel the skin from my body and send me back to the dust that made me. But with one word, just one word, the One who made creation, who was made in the image of man, fully God and fully man, sends them all running back to their homes.

And with another word, he did what was beyond reasoning, beyond what the pills and the medications and the drugs had ever done. He healed and bound my wounds. I thought I was too broken to repair. I thought I was shattered beyond mending. But I didn't know. I didn't need glue to bring me together. All I needed was a heart willing to be changed, and he was going to change me from the inside out.

And so he did. He gave me a new life. That's why my brokenness could stay in the past, the old things remaining in the past, while he made me new: bright and shining.

Oh, what manner of man is this, that even the wind and the storm obey him, and with that same voice has bound up my broken heart. He has power in his hands to heal what's shattered. And he is doing it still.

I thought I was broken beyond saving. But he needed not a glue or a gum to patch me. He restored me instead, giving me a new life.
