DON’T FAKE WHAT GOD IS STILL WORKING ON!
Something happened this morning, and the Holy Spirit used it to teach me a lesson. I thought to share it with you all.
I woke up this morning to find a message from a lady who is a member of our church. I advised her to go for a medical test because she had been experiencing a persistent cough sha.
Fast-forward to this morning: she sent me her medical report and said, “Bro Faith, I have done the medical test, but I don’t understand the result. Can you please prescribe a drug for me and tell me exactly what is wrong with me?” with the pictures of the medical test attached
Before I go any further, please note that although I am called Dr. Faith, it is just a nickname, not my actual profession.
Unknown to this lady, she had always assumed that I was a medical doctor. 😇😇
That was when the Holy Spirit began to teach me something profound.
*Many Christians have mastered the art of appearing to have a genuine relationship with God without actually cultivating one. We sometimes project a certain image through their words, attitudes, and behaviours, making people believe they are deeply rooted in God. Yet, beneath that outward appearance, there is no corresponding depth of spiritual growth.*
This is where the issues is
Some of us are drawing people’s attention to ourselves through the way we speak, act, and present ourselves. We create an impression that makes people who are hungry for God want to follow us, learn from us, or seek spiritual direction from us.
THE HOLY SPIRIT reminded me of the story in the Bible where Jesus approached a fig tree because He was hungry, only to discover that it had leaves but no fruit. Matt 21:18-19.
The tree had an appearance that suggested it had something to offer, but when Jesus came closer, He found nothing but leaves.
The lesson here is
It is possible to look fruitful from a distance and still be fruitless when examined closely.
Allow God to work on you in the secret place. Embrace the process of spiritual growth. Let the Holy Spirit build in you the character, understanding, discipline, and depth that your public appearance suggests.
Because when you present yourself as someone you are not, you may end up misleading the very people who trust you. You may become a stumbling block to those who are genuinely hungry for God.
**All I am saying is this:* Grow with God, grow in God, and allow the Holy Spirit to do His work in you.
Remember, no matter how urgently or desperately a generation needs answers, God will not send you merely because people are desperate. He must also work in you so that you can faithfully represent Him to the people He sends your way.
Seriously an unprepared vessel can cause more harm than good, even when the need is genuine.**
I rest my case.😇
I just thought to share this with you all this morning. May God help us all, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Sorry for for the disturbance this morning
